Scholarship Instructions
Please read these instructions carefully. Scholarship applications that are incomplete or otherwise do not follow instructions will not be considered.
Who Is Eligible?Any high school or college student is eligible to apply for this scholarship. The student must be enrolled in a two-year or four-year institution for the upcoming semester.
A minimum GPA is not required.
How to Apply:- Create a short video that explains why you are interested in law (or a related field), what your dreams and goals are, and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals.
The video can be serious, funny, inspiring—whatever you want! Creativity is encouraged. The video must be 30-120 seconds in length.
- Upload the video to YouTube.
The video must use the title and description format below.

Description:http://washingtonstateattorneys.com/scholarship [YOUR SUMMARY OF VIDEO CONTENT] This video is an application for The Law Offices of Jason S. Newcombe Future Leaders of Washington State Scholarship. This scholarship, offered by the Washington State law firm The Law Offices of Jason S. Newcombe, will be given to one student who demonstrates interest in and passion for the law or a related field.

- Share the video online, on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, and any other social media networks on which you have a profile.
The number of likes that the video receives on YouTube will be taken into account when selecting a winner. Videos should have 20 or more likes.
- Submit your application at http://washingtonstateattorneys.com/scholarship. Your application must include a link to your video and an essay expanding on the content of your video.
The essay must be 500-1000 words.
Post a link to your video on any of the following social media sites:
- Google+
- Tumblr
- Blogger
Ask family and friends to go to the link and like your video. They can post your video on their social media profiles as well!
Don’t be afraid to post your video more than once on your social media profiles. Your friends might not see your video in their newsfeed, or they might need a reminder to go to the link.
We encourage you to create your video at least a month before the application deadline to give yourself enough time to promote your video.
When Is the Deadline?All applications must be submitted by February 28, 2015.
How Is the Winner Chosen?The winner will be selected based on the content and creativity of his or her video. The number of likes that the video receives will also be taken into consideration, so make sure to share it!

When Is the Winner Announced?The winner will be announced on April 2, 2015. He or she will be contacted by email. A check made out to the institution in which he or she is enrolled will be sent to the address provided in the scholarship application no later than 30 days after the announcement.
Important note: The scholarship award will be paid via check directly to the institution in which the winning student is enrolled. The winner will be required to provide all information regarding his or her enrollment that is necessary to administer the scholarship funds, including (but not limited to) the name of the institution and his or her student ID number. If the winner decides to attend a school other than the one provided, it is his or her responsibility to notify GNGF (513-444-2016) so that a revised check may be sent.
